Mezuzah Cases

by Julie Feldman

The 'Shalom' Collection: Fine Artist and Designer Julie Feldman is thrilled to offer her latest invention, hand-crafted limited-edition and one-of-kind Mezuzah cases, signed and dated by Julie herself, made with Love and Magic (and lots of Mazel!) in Santa Monica, California.

“As a sculptor and designer, I am excited to be able to incorporate fine art mediums and my signature design elements into a spiritual, uplifting and unique object of art that is symbolic of faith, blessings and love“. -- Julie Feldman
In the Jewish faith, Mezuzahs are parchment scrolls on which are written specified Hebrew verses from the Torah: the “Shema”. The scrolls are placed inside mezuzah cases that are affixed to the gates and outer doorframes of Jewish homes to show respect and to bless and protect those entering and residing there. In fact, every room that is big enough to live in is supposed to display a mezuzah on the doorframe.

Julie Feldman Designs "Shalom!" Collection is presented to you in three collections: signature floral, oil and acrylic contemporary painted, and abstract welded steel. Each work of art is signed, dated and/or numbered by the artist. Some are adorned with colorful silks, ribbons, flowers, crystals, found objects and specialty trims. Others are painted with oils or acrylics or sculpted using welded steel. Keep in mind that the beautiful adornments and components of JFD mezuzah cases are best suited for indoor use and designed for aesthetic appeal!
“I hope you enjoy choosing, owning, displaying and gifting my "SHALOM!" collection as much as I enjoy making them and knowing that blessings are abundant and beauty can be shared by all.“ -- Julie Feldman

These hand-crafted designer mezuzah cases are perfect gifts for old homes, new homes, weddings, newborns, birthdays, holidays … or just because …

JFD's "Shalom!" Collection incorporates aluminum containers imported from Israel. The cases are affixed to doorframes with picture-hanging adhesive strips that are included in the design. To be kosher, a mezuzah scroll must be drawn by hand by a specially trained scribe; the mezuzahs included with JFD cases are facsimiles. Kosher mezuzah scrolls are available from most synagogues and many Judaica stores.

Directions: 1. Use a flathead screwdriver to unscrew bottom of mezuzah case and insert your own mezuzah (this can be purchased at some temples and most Judaica shops of your preference; for more information about the tradition and specifics of placement of mezuzahs, visit Mezuzah - The Jewish security system at Chabad.Org).
2. Replace bottom of case and secure again with screwdriver so scroll remains inside.
3. Peel off white adhesive tape from back of JFD Mezuzah case and affix to doorpost.
